DPP faculty member publishes new book on Global Energy Governance

The global market for oil and gas resources is rapidly changing. Three major trends - the rise of new consumers, the increasing influence of state players, and concerns about climate change - are combining to challenge existing regulatory structures, many of which have been in place for a half-century. "Global Energy Governance" analyzes the energy market from an institutionalist perspective and offers practical policy recommendations to deal with these new challenges.

Annual Doctoral Conference - Call for papers

Central European University and Corvinus University are inviting paper and panel submissions for this year's Annual Doctoral Conference (ADC), to be held on 6-7 April in Budapest, Hungary.

Two assistant professor positions in Public Policy, Department of Public Policy

Central European University (CEU) is a graduate research-intensive university specializing primarily in the social sciences. Post-doctoral research position (Public Health Policy and Development)

The Center for Policy Studies (http://cps.ceu.hu) and the Department of Public Policy (http://www.ceu.hu/dpp) at the Central European University invite applicants for a post doctoral research position starting in summer-fall 2010. The successful candidate will help strengthen existing public welfare research at CEU by specializing in public health policy and development. S/he will initiate new research on the challenges of delivering public health services in low and middle income countries.

DPP faculty member publishes book on the history of OPEC

Andreas Goldthau, Associate Professor at the Department of Public Policy and Jan Martin Witte, Associate Director of the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), Berlin published a book entitled “OPEC: Between Power and Impotence” (German title: “Die OPEC: Macht und Ohnmacht des Öl-Kartells”).
