The Department of Public Policy seeks to attract individuals committed to studying and solving real world problems. A premium is put on international experience and work experience in a field relevant to public policy.

The entry requirements for the one-year Master’s in Public Policy Program follow the General CEU Admissions Requirements. In addition, applicants must submit:

  • A sample of written work (max. 10 pages). This can be any kind of academic piece of work written in English language, e.g. a chapter of your B.A. thesis, an essay or other, demonstrating your analytical and argumentation skills in English. The sample does not have to be connected to Public Policy subjects.
  • A 500-word statement of purpose that highlights relevant experience and explains the reasons for applying to the program. Please also mention and justify your preferred specialization if applicable. Please click here for advice about how to write a good statement of purpose.

Admission to the Master in Public Policy and the PhD Program in Political Science, Public Policy Track, is based on merit. Various types of financial assistance including CEU fellowships, tuition waivers, and external scholarships, are available for top candidates.
